Tendering a load
Put everything the driver needs on the rate con and send it to dispatch. We sign and return it before the truck is dispatched.
Once our authority is active, a tender is not accepted until dispatch replies to confirm it. If something on the rate con does not work, the reply says so and nothing moves until it is fixed.
What to put on the rate con
- Pickup and deliveryFull addresses for every stop, with appointment windows or receiving hours.
- Reference numbersPO, BOL and pickup numbers, exactly as the shipper and receiver will ask for them.
- CommodityWhat the freight actually is, so there are no surprises at the dock.
- Weight, pallet count and dimsTotal weight, number of pallets and pallet dimensions. Flag anything oversized or not stackable.
- Liftgate and site notesLiftgate at pickup or delivery, residential stops and limited-access sites.
- Tracking requirementsCheck-call times, or the tracking app the load runs on.
Paperwork and updates
Two inboxes, each with one job. Updates come by email unless the load runs on a tracking app.

Send rate cons, load offers and any change to appointments or reference numbers. Tender confirmations, check-calls and pickup and delivery updates come from here.
Billing
Invoices and PODs come from here. Send remittance advice and setup packet requests here.
What you get on every load
Tender confirmed
Dispatch signs and returns your rate con before the truck is dispatched.
Picked up
A picked-up update with the signed BOL.
In transit
Check-calls by email at the times on the rate con, or through your tracking app when the load requires one.
Delivered
A delivered update with the signed POD, the same day.
Invoiced
Billing sends the invoice with the signed rate con, BOL and POD attached.
Need a specific tracking app? Note it on the rate con and the driver runs it for that load.
Freight we pass on
Better to say so before you tender than after.
Placarded hazmat
Anything that requires hazmat placards. If the freight has a hazard class, name it when you send the load.
Loads over roughly 10,000 lb
That is about the payload of a 26-ft non-CDL box truck. Heavier freight needs a bigger truck.
Temperature-controlled freight
The box has no reefer unit, so freight that has to hold a set temperature belongs with a reefer carrier.
